Look like a Metasesarma aubryi to me....
Heard that they dont breed in freshwater? |

that is a metasesarma obesum, they can breed in freshwater, metasesarma obesum is the one that does not breed in fresh water.

I read somewhere, the larvae of Metasesarma aubryi require brackish water, is it?

yup, the larvae have to be raised in brackish water.
BTW, where did u get the crabs? |
