Built in 1882, the Singapore General Hospital used to occupy the site of a Sepoy Camp (Sepoy*is from theHindi*"Sipahi" for "Indian troops") of the*British East India Company. As a result, the hospital grounds is known to the*Chinese*to this day as*sipai poh, meaning "Sepoy plain" in theHokkien*dialect.[2]*Located nearby was the Outram Prison (now demolished), which was the site of the public executions of the*1915 Singapore Mutiny.

https://m.facebook.com/yes933/posts/10152074683144867 havelock road call as or kio ta, because all Bridge along Singapore river print in different colour, Chinese in older day call the place by using the bridge colour. White Bridge, Black Bridge, green bridge etc. the bridge direction face the city is call as head and face away city call as tail. Or Kio ta mean black bridge head.
