Bro midniteguy,
For 14 fries, need not big container. The size u mention is just nice but not for long run, constern upgrade of the container size will do. Do u use aged water to do wc? If u intended to use 1ft tank to hse them, do not fill the water too high, ard 8-10cm height of water will do n small bubbling cos fries cun tk strong current. U might consider putting in hornwort, it will help in reducing NO3. For feeding, just feed very little to them, dun overfeed. 1 last thg, add some CC to buffer the ph fluctuation. Gd luck. |

I have about 120 2 weeks old fries in a 1 ft square glass tank with a sponge filter and some floating plants. Not much water change needed and first week fed them with Hikari First Bite. Now mixing that with live daphnias and they are thriving and growing fast. All my guppies are raised in this manner with no deaths so far, X fingers and touch wood. I ensure having occasional 30% WC once a week and keep tabs with my TDS meter.

When fries are firstborn, as much as possible, try to house them using the water they are born in for the first few days.
As to adding salt during WC, i do add salt during WC as the water where my fries were born has salt too. This works for me, hope it works for you too |
