Hi sifu's.
I have xback few months old on my old tank 3.5'.
Now I got new 5' tank n it arrive today so my question is how do I transfer my xback?

Straight pump new water n add half of old water from tank n do transfer ?
What is the easy way to transfer xback , example by plastic bag?

Reusing the old filter and the medias?

If yes for me I'd just

clean the new tank,
transfer some water from the old tank into the new tank,
transfer the fish into new tank using prawn bag,
transfer the rest of the water from the old tank into the new tank,
slowly top up aged water into new tank over several days.

that should be it. but that's just how I'd do it.

If everything new and not reusing the old filter or media.....cycle the tank first.

Hope this helps.

Good on you bro.

However, your xb may not be feeding so soon as it may readjust itself to the new environment.

Btw, how big is your current xb?

Question

Hi streetsmart73.
Yes, experience n some sifus here did advised earlier when I first bought him. I feed him yesterday make sure he has enough. I will try to feed him....maybe start from this Sat. Currently I think is around 10-11".

Hi XRTG.
Haha, yes we both agreed before I pay for the tank. They help me to caught him into big plastic bag and pump some gas on it. According to them, the fish can last 3 hours in plastic bag. Then they teach me how to transfer after I clean n fill water + add old tank water. They quite helpful.

Hi Dave57.
I just use clean cloth to clean on whole tank before I fill up with water
The tank is too big hard for me to clean every corner I hope the tank is clean

Hi all.
Thanks for feedback I will try to take some pictures n upload by tomorrow morning. Really tired after fixing up new 5' tank, cleaning up old 3.5' tank n transfer some fish from 2' tank to old 3.5' tank.
Total time spend 6 hours but is worth every sec.
