Bro,
Regarding covers; eggcrates will do the job if you put sufficient weight on them.

Pros of eggcrates = better airflow for your tank. Cons = rougher surface usually injures body of aro when it jumps (trust me, it will jump one day either when an insect flys by or if it is frightened due to sudden movement or light)

Suggest you go custom make glass covers to cover the remainder area not covered by the OHF. Suggest you split it to two pieces of glass (left and right) and have about 3 holes in each piece of glass for air flow as well as to serve as handhold when you want to lift the covers. Also, cover the edges with oyama to prevent finger cuts and glass vs glass scratching when you put onto your tank..

thanks for the advice.. settle tank first before thinking about covers
yes.. got the melamine foam from Daiso..

anyway, more updates today.. damn tiring!
went down to take my uncle's cabinet.. but ended up width only 22inch.. 2inch smaller and it don't look sturdy.. so didn't take it..
so went off to y618..
and came back with.
10L of S size MR aqua CRs..

5L M size reserved from a bro... so total will be using 15L of CRs.

AR AQUA 4ft stackable OHF, only got 6 trays.. might get another 3.. don't really know how to use it.

came back and washed the 4ft stand and its ready for repaining tonight..
