Default Blister on Face

Was planning to add a piece of red into my tank when i noticed this piece had a blister like thing on its face.
should i try to pop it?
I've only seen pictures but have not had an aro which has been afflicted with it yet.

any tips?
will it be safe to throw into the pond?

same thing happened to mine before when I hand itchy disturbed the gravel and stones. Just add salt and keep tank water clean. Will clear up in a few days.
