What type of filer do you have as i dont think sponges will be very good

as with any tank it is always best to double the filteration as ray produce alot of waste

2 x canister filters are alot better than one as then you can clean them at different times and not upset the bio systerm

unless you have a sump

I am starting to get excited. I have strong hints that my female having little ray in her.
reasons
1. my male now seems very afraid of the female. Usually the male will eat most of it coz he is more agressive in eating. but now my female is even moe agressive.
2. my female seldom swim up to grad food now she is doing it very often.
3. my female seems like eats a lot more. Usually my pair cun finish 10 MP so normally I give 6~8 n only 1 feed. It seems more female is bottomless. morning give my pair 10. night feed abt 8. plus a few SW tat my aro doesnt wan.
question.
1. How to tell physically ( i have seen motoro tats abt to due, can see movements but my rays are quite fat so I dunno how to tell). The hump will get bigger(unlike when it is just full). You can see movements about 2 months after copulation. Will then give birth after about 1 more month
2. How much to feed per feed? I mean now tat the female seems aggressive. You can increase by about 40% for the female but this alo means lots of water change
3. I m getting a little afraid for my male coz the front seems to curl up. But after a while when start swimming like normal. sum times goes down also. He is still eating but really much lesser then b4.
4. My male seems to hide behind the air disk.
so far male seems alright but I wanna check.
5. death curls usually starts frm the back. I would thing its very stiff even when swimming. But mine seems like its just trying to suck in more water. I have double the feed and the number of MP. Both my ray have like humps all the way from day till night so issit coz my male is too full? (like aro gasp for water more when they are very full. How about increasing your frequency of water change?
I am both very happy and very worried. pls help

im not sure on how long it takes for rays to have the pups (i think maybe 9-12 weeks )

did you see them breed and was the females disk chewed from the male

wat a sign of relieve. to hear tat urs does the same heavy breathing thing.
No, I did not see that copulate.
But a few days maybe wk ago. the tail fin of butt fin had lots of bite marks. also the disc are close to the back have bite marks and torn signs. Tats what i suspect. but again. I didnt not see them copulate. few days or wks I did see thm floating on top of each othr which I have nber seen b4.

From what I have seen the humps looks the same to me. maybe coz they are always there just size alittle different.
All I can say is we shall just wait for 1~2 mths to noe if we are rite.

the pearl rays in the video were mine and the adult p14s are the mother and father of the p14s i have now

the food you see being fed i get sent over and is made buy frank the rays love it

wow nice video... how are the rays feeding? just to ask, wat kind of things added in the filteration will be good for ray? sponges? carbon? rings? anti amonia?

MERRY christmas to all ray keeper and let us all learn more and share our info in the new year

i put siporex and efisubstrate in my external filters

and put a fairly new product called polyfilter in my internal filters its great stuff and removes everything but is very expencive and need to be changed every 3-4 weeks
