Default Tanganyika Oddballs

Hello to all Tanga kakis,

Thought of starting a thread here on Tanganyika Oddballs so those of you keeping these oddities can share your experience here

Let me start off by sharing with you some pictures of the Tanganyika Eel, Mastacembelus moorii.
They are very shy creature, and are always hiding amoung the rocks most of the time. Peaceful and no aggression shown to the other tankmates so far.
Occasionally they will venture out into the open sand, but only when the lights are out. This has led me to think if they are nocturnal.
They take NLS pallets and frozen brine & mysis shrimps readily.

That's one beautiful eel! Is it a relative to the other eels like fire, tyre track eels etc.?

I suppose so. They are all a genus of the many species of spiny eel fish from the family Mastacembelidae afterall.

Nice eel, good new thread hope to see more oddballs.

Surprise me that you are able to comm with other species thought they are real predator.

Benny, if the eel becomes predatory, than we BBQ it.
They are growing fast. Wondering how long will it grow.
