Oic... Ya got a pond. Just put it in tank meanwhile only to have a overall view of it. In pond can c the grow from the side etc...

Will it reach 4-5' growing up in a 8x4x4? Once it reaches 3.5', already quite hard to turn.

I think should be ok. Anyway, just monitor and c. If not doing good anymore in tank will transfer fish into pond.

I suggest u put it in the pond when 2'. U got him cos he grows big. Skally stunted then boring already. Break its spine is even worse. BTW, normal tank glass 12mm is not thick enough for monsters, 15mm glass is minimum. Arai are strong swimmer when young. So I don't know how jumpy u mean when u say jumpy, BTW, they need to come to surface to breath air. Floating plants might help.

Anyway, good luck, hope ur pond is near enough for u to transfer it if he breaks the glass.

so far i only know 2 places in sg that u can see arapaima in cement tanks with viewing panel. 1 is in sungei tengah, some vegetable farm; 2 is in kranji, auntie's prawn fishing place.

Haha... Just outside house! Will c how still coz if very very stable then I'll keep it in tank for viewing till too big then transfer to pomd
