Well steven,

Just in case you didn't notice, I did advertise my own Ca reactor for sale in the marine bargain corner. It might be overkill for your tank (US model rated for 450 US G), but you won't have to worry much about upgrades. And cheaper than what you'd pay for from 88 - only RM650.

do u need to change the substrate before using as it may be exhausted
and the pump do i need to replace the pump?

Steven,

Yup, that's the one. The substrate is brand new. The pump has been tested again and again all the time. If a new Eheim is put in, the price wouldn't be the same.

Overkill in this case simply means that the reactor is very much over-sized for your planned tank size. But of cos it would still work. You could probably reduce the CO2 and water flow in your case.

what would happen if the co2 level and water flow is higher than required for my tank size?

too much calcium...any side effects?

It would just be a waste of CO2 and the calcium media.
