redcross Shrimp tank casualities

Since I failed in my cherry shrimp keeping, I decided to do a water parameters check.. the findings are as stated below

PH = 6
General hardness = 180
Carbonate hardness = 0
Nitrite = 0
Nitrate = 160
Ammonia = 6

I think the death of the shrimps is due to the high Ammonia level. I need to clarify, how to bring down the ammonia level ?

do water change? or use water conditioners such as AMMO - LOC?

please advise.. thanks

Do you have any substrate for your tank and what kind of filteration are you using?
maybe you can add addictives to promote bacteria growth. Also do scoop out all the dead shrimps/plants if possible as they do contribute to ammonia as well.

had about one inch of PROJECT soil at the base... and using undergravel filtration, and one air stone bubbing....

Try using some hornworts to reduce the nitrates. Both nitrates and ammonia should be near 0.

pH is too low at 6 liao. get few pc of coral chip to buffer up your pH first.
