Please take it out and place it in a breeder / small tank if you can, because it's already weaker than other crays with one claw missing.

If your cray hasn't moulted since you bought it, it may be due to the murky water at farms, yeah, like Lobsterman said, you need to wait for a moult to have a clean base.

Hope my suggestions helps.
Buai.
hi Jivarus

Sorry to hear about your loss. How was it separated? Within the same tank? Exact same water parameters?

i don't have separator so have to put it in a small tank, a bit like LFS style, use the tank water with a little salt
hope i did the right thing

Is your water too much or something, oxygen exchange can be rather low if the water level is too high. Sometimes if people are smoking it can also put the cray's life at risk.

If all is not possible, then the cray may have died due to the pain of the loss of the claw...

It is highly possible that it died due to a lack of oxygen... it probably drowned.

heres a pix of my tank i took at 12pm yesterday
she seems fine, climbing on top of the left sunken ship

my tank is 1/2 full, using OHF
by looking at the impact created, i believe there are enough oxygen for all my fauna(2 whites cray, 2 small black mollies, 1 common pleco)

btw i notice she likes to climb on top of the sunken ship and submersible pump
will that drown her? could it be the cause of death?

i do not want to repeat the same mistake again
thanks all

As long as there is water rushing against water, there will be air supply.

If really no problem then is due to die of pain already.

Your tank setup is fine, with the agitation, there is sufficient dissolved oxygen. But you did mention you isolated the injured cray in a small tank?? Does it have aeration? How much water you added in the tank? Did it cover the whole cray?

the cray is 1/2 submerge, like LFS style, when isolated in the small tank
