redcross anyone knows how to repair PL light?

I got the std two ballast two 36W retail light...
one tube was down earlier, so tried to component test the starters and tubes.
starters ok can switch, but once I switched the tubes both died.
so can anyone tell me what happened? LOL SIGH!!
think both tubes gone? one side ballast shorting? dunno leh..
any advice?

May be you can bring it to Natural aquarium, it is at No. 1 Thompson road, opposite Thompson medical centre.

it comes with a starter? that means your PL is not running on e ballast? if that is the case, changing to e ballast is better in the long run. lesser heat, easier repair etc.

hmmm I bought from there... hehe
my 4' is on eballast, still very hot leh...
anyway I can't remove the ballast from the plate, or the plate from the frame, dunno glued or what, else can get replacement from my hw store downstairs...

most of the ballast r riveted onto a metal plate. U can try to remove the rivet thus freeing the ballast. Normally its quite difficult to move the plate after long usage, just spray some 4wd or u can use hammer to try hammer it out. good luck

Wait till u touch an iron ballast.*Ouch*
Can try pour a little thinner on the glu (if u see glue), wait awhile and it comes off easily.
