It is very hard.....
not to "penalize" employees who take advantage of the system to maximize their annual leave, off-day, MCs, child-care leave, etc., when it comes to the time to determine their annual bonus payout

Friend or no friend but when it comes to work and bonus (,when the company is profitable) , The KPI is the primary factor. Cannot siam one.
Some bosses or superiors would have other or additional factors to consider even when an employee has met the min. KPI. |

Sometimes they make it very obvious especially when regularly applying MCs on Mondays.
I had one previous staff that did that because she has a weekend home in JB and her husband works in Singapore on afternoon shift so come Monday she can't come in in the morning. I have one current staff that recently became a believer so spends her weekends, after work and sometimes office hours doing God's work. She is over exerting herself and is starting to take mc's on mondays too. |

In my previous company the project director reminded against taking MCs on Mondays and Fridays frequently and will be subject to HR review on performance.

theoretically as employers or managers, we cannot "penalize" these people who maximize their various types of leave and MCs but the behavior of these people just demonstrate that their commitment to the company and work are not at the required level, so why should they be rewarded with additional bonuses.

Some measures by how much the staff is capable of, "sucking up".

Some measure by relationship eg kakis,
Some measure by who they know and not what they know. |
