I have tried both TEM and Coolant chiller during my active shrimp keeping days. anything bigger then a 1 ft tank would render the TEM almost totally ineffective. It is like using a USB fan to try to cool yourself in today's weather.
The plus point and only plus point for TEM is low cost, to make a super TEM to cool the temperature would need the TEM to be cascaded together and using a coolant to cool the heatsink or it will be super heated, so it would be back to square one, coolant chiller. Now my TEM is used for cooling my plants which cannot take Singapore's summer's heat. |
