I have 3 pcs of BBXB comm in a white tank and has been using 6 pcs of 4Ft flourescen light 24/7 in a white FGT 4ft by 2ft. it is because of the light that cause DE or it is because of other fish in the tank ? Are u refer to diamond eye? Sorry to say that there is no cure. Do not tann yr baby fish when is is less than 6 inches in size. Based on my encountered experience with my previous bbxb.

causes of DE includes:
- top light too strong, fish tends to look away
- water height high, fish tends to look down

for your situation, u may wish to reduce the light intensity + lower the water level. for the time being, cover the front panel i.e. tank is totally white.

is this doesnt help to alleviate the DE problem, the last option is to go for ops to rectify.

if DE is bad i doubt so, put in pond and fgt is for awhile only. once u put back into tank it will drop again, what i do is i add in a red coke cap in my tank, so far no aros get DE.

Default .

WHY DO YOU HAVE LIGHTS ON 24/7
this is extremely unnatural and fish do not like it.
fish need darkness as well and it triggers natural behaviour.

the 24/7 night may cause drop eye long term due to brightness from above.
but if you imagine the SUN, the sun is bright too.

b ut i would say, reduce lighting from above
Or if you have tanning lights, remove the tanning lights for a while and put a orange or red ping pong ball to float around in the tank.
