Do you normally leave some lights on at night in the tank, and if so did your family turn it off at night while you were away?

I had the same issue with my red. Always left one tube on at night then one day I decided to switch it off. Next day woke up to find both barbels gone and some injury to the lip. So I suspected at night with all the the lights my aro was not used to it and dashed around and rubbed its mouth on the tank walls resulting the injury.

My aros mouth and barbels healed up fine after a month or two.
