Tank background
The title might seems a little bit boring and discussed many times here, but out of curiousity, would like to seek advice here.
Current 5ft tank for my red aro, is all black side, back and bottom. wondering is it advisable to change either one side (now thinking either back or bottom) to white or at least blue color? coz the tank seems abit dark now.... If really go for the change, anyone to contact to do the job? and roughly cost how much? how to deal with all the fishes inside for the work? Thanks thanks |

Since you're keeping redz, why not stick to all sides black oyama? Redz looks good in all black background. Play around with lightings if you feel it is too dark. Just my personal preferences.

agree with spino. IMHO, i think a aro looks best in a plain tank so its color stands out against the bg, esp. if its a red. just my two cents though.

Assuming the bottom is bare and with only a piece of white foam cushioning the tank, then there will be reflection. There are some sayings that this will result in the aros keep looking downward, thus the DE thingy. So the only practical way is to paste black oyama on the tank bottom or put matt black tiles into the tank.
You may engage the service of some Logistic Companies (check out AF's Commercial partner) to help you out on the fishes' (& tank water) temporary holding area while they paste a new oyama sheet. Alternatively, you may acquire a few pieces of black rays (<10") as a natural coverages for the bare bottom. Redz on top, blackies on the bottom. Wow! My dream tank. |
