Bro, what's your water parameters? Do frequent water change as Sotong barbels occur often due to water parameters issues and if there's improvement then continue doing WC. If not, You may add a wave maker to straigten its barbels, darken the tank's environment so that the Aro will rely more on its barbels to move around in the dark or the last last resort, you might want to nip if off and let it grow back. A picture would help.

Use cotton wool to rub the barbels.

Scrub all sides of the tank.

Ensure there's sufficient space in the tank and do frequent water change.

This is one issue which I've been struggling with for years. Tried keeping in pond, in friend's altum tank with perfect water parameters, tried using all sorts of medication, cutting it off....etc. Currently, have one red still suffering from this irritating issue. Don't know what to do already. But just give it the best TLC. Fish is healthy and now the alpha in my comm. Hopefully will get a cure soon.

Dun think it will be gone...Had tried curing 1 before using many methods like cutting the barbel of for it to re-grow, scrap it of from the barbels.

But all to no avail..it still comes back.

Tank water condition at that time was good, but it still happened

some kana due to poor water condition, some i think its genetic.

Yes Bro, otherwise it will struggle.

The fish need not sleep, just to make it weak so that it will has lesser chance of struggling.
