Abang

That is why i respect you. In kong fu saying, "one needs to have strong internal strength to master or absord high level skills" Abang, you have superd internal strength, so you can attain high level kong fu skill.

I cannot, so i must learn only the simple skills if not i "run fire getting evil".
So, I feel simple is best.

My old 2 cents method is easy method by sump with natural filtering mediums.
Start from big big to finest pores. Stones - big coral - medium coral - small coral - many cotton wools - rough sands - medium sands - very fine sands.
No other additives accept only salt, aged water and K leaves are used.

My newly enquired skill that my internal strength can take is.
Replace all corals with Bio home plus, Japanese filter mat and Bio balls.
For additives - S7, BW and Stress coat.
Hehehe, that is all my internal strength can take.

No more CO2

Regards

Abang,

u are making me paiseh liao there is no so called special knowledge which I never advocate...I would say u got to play around with the parameters urself and only urself can tell wat is gd for the fishes

by removing ur CC, u should substitute with Seashells..they are less liable to break down and cause problems to ur water...the rest is ok liao

u forget to put in "Dirty socks"

there are only one comment on ur filter: "Too Clean"

If this work than stick to it maybe can try other method when your fish is sick of the current filteration!

btw Abang I like the way u include sand inside ur filter...its not easily achievable

just remmember dun disturb the sand if not alot of undesirable elements will backflush to ur water tat will be disaster

tat is where u maintain the equilibrium of balance

bioballs not say no good but if submerged its not gd...I rather use the simplified method of Koi matts...there are various degree of hardness and porous ratio if u notice...stack in the right manner it will be better than bio balls liao

if u play with medias in the wrong way sometimes it actually backfire

use them appropriately u enhance their effectiveness...such as height of application, amount to apply and position of the medias in terms of priority

lights also the same...some for simple touchup (I tell u b4)...some for intense workout...others for cosmetic use (see swee swee can liao)...the rest are vases liao
