Low humming sound is always there as is motor in operation. Think you don't mean those cracking sound. Cannot think of any solution except to enclose in some enclosure like cabinet or box.

I just started my 2260 2 weeks back. Also have the humming sound quite loud but after running for 2 weeks the humming sound was reduce. My sit inside my cabinet so the humming sound doesn't bother me. There may be trap air inside you may try to shake the canister as trap air also cause louder humming sound. Hope it helps

I am using fluval. For my case when there r noise in the cannister, usually the plastic propeller is broken. Can take out and check if it is intact by gently turning it around the shaft in the direction against its operation. If can turn means broken, need to replace.

It should be low pitch humming. If high pitch definitely something wrong with the pump. Cause I'm running a 1260 for my ohf inside my tank which is silent since its in the water. same pump with the 2260 which I added on later.

try using your hand to press on the pump, if the sound is gone when you do that. 1- tighten the screws holding it down OR 2- add some rubber washers between the pump and the baseplate so there is a cushion for the pump to sit on.

if humming sound still persist, then you gotta dismantle it all and check on the internal parts (magnet, impeller blades, ceramic rod etc)

Dear bro,

Is low humming sound. I had secured the motor tightly but still have. I use 2 x 2260 and the combine humming sound from both can be quite audible at night.
