All Discus from H&K have gone through strigent selection by Hudson from the many collected by the local fisherman in Brazil during the wild discus season. Aside from the obviously higher quality of discus than anything that has reached our shores previously, the most important thing to me is the extensive quarantine that Hudson puts the fish through before shipping them out. He takes responsibility for ensuring that the discus are disease free, and free from parasites before shipping them out. This gives us as hobbyists the ease of mind, and removes the hassle from us needing an extra quarantine tank to quarantine our discus before putting them in our main tanks.
I think everyone who saw the last batch can testify how healthy and thick the discus were from day 1 - a stark contrast to the skinny, sick and unhappy discus we usually see from other wild imports. Those exporters can't wait to get rid of the discus and "pass the buck" on fish deaths to the middlemen or the hobbyists. |
