Hi I'm new to this forum. Also recently started to keep one cray. I think it's a red p clarkii? Anyway, according to the LFS guy, he said since I'm keeping only one cray in a single tank, there's no need for air pump; just an internal filter will do. Anyone here can clarify with that?
And are there any tips on how to make water hard? Thanks~ |

broken legs and antenna
hey guys erm. the crays in my tank now, actually one of them the orange one
has like 2-3 broken legs, one of which is the feeding claw. It's like how humans have broken legs and stuff, so the whole thing is there but the part below the broken joint is limp. The thing is the particular point of breakage is brown. So what isit? spot burn? Oh and the tip of the antenna too. One side only. Do crays scratch their abdomen? Thanks below is the picture. Notice the circled up spots. The cray in the picture is the grey one. Forgot to mention he has that brown thing under his belly and the spots by the side looks exactly the same like the one the orange guy has. Last edited by lukielala; 22-09-2008 at 01:46 AM. |

Maybe they change colour to suit surroundings a la camouflage? Or perhaps your water quality too good? I hear that clarkiis live in terrible conditions in the wild.. Imagine Kranji reservoir.. that kind of condition..
