Sharing my Shrimp tank

Hi Bro,

I have 2 questions

1. I just bought a 2nd hand 2213 for my new shrimp tank that i will be getting soon. How often do you clean the filter? I am using a 2213 for my comm tank already and i find it a hassle as i have to clean the filter every 2 months.

2. I literally have to place my mouth at the piping to suck water into the canister. Will it be easier if i use an eheim pump to do that instead of having place my mouth over the pipes?

Fill up canister full with water and inlet hose. And power up . Should do the job .

Btw , why don't you start a thread of your own ?

Hi...

1) I do not clean my filter for my shrimp tank.

2) As my canister is below my tank, I just fill up my inlet hose and power on my canister, then my canister will be fill up water and running.

Thanks. I better go purchase a new set of media for the 2213 tank. It came without the media as the buyer threw it all away.

I have some K1 media. Is it advisable to use it for shrimp tank?

K1 media is good but it is quite an eye sore as it needs to be circulating all the time for it to be effective. not advisable to put it in the canister if that is what your asking

oh ok. wanted to put it into canister to try out. i might want to place som of them into my small ohf to see if the BB will grow
