I always had the notion that having a KH of 4 is ideal but recently I was told it doesn't really matter.

But I always like to err on the side of caution since with CO2 injections I prefer to have around a dKH of 4 to prevent pH swings. I had unusually low KH for one of my tanks and the inhabitants were wiped out due to the pH spikes.

As far as I know, KH is either a value or just 0.

Its always good to have some buffering capabilities.

Yup, increasng KH will also increase the PH, macam they go hand-in-hand. That's how we can use the co2 chart mah. We inject CO2 to bring the PH down.

As for RO water, sama the Newwater bah. Should be distilled water. Havn't got chance to try a RO unit yet.
