Default White tank treatment for black rays.

Calling all expert groomers out there.....What's the opinion on white tank treatment to bring out more white spots on black rays. Royal galaxy,P-14,Beedees,hybrids,etc.

Does it work or does it harm the look of the ray. Will a black ray have more spots if kept in a white tank?

I would encourage the Blackies be in a brightly lit environment instead...

But of course in a brightly lit white tank would be even better lor..However , for some hobbyist prefer to see their Blackies in blue or black background , then lighting is to play the part.

If can , 24/7 lights on.

Simon .

To be honest I have a different opinion with bro NOMIS, I'd say before the base has turn totally black, the lights should be totally off as this result in growth in the size of spots on the ray, when the ray turns totally black naturally at around 8-9", lights doesn't matter much anymore.

Any reasons for off the light before the base is black?

Let me explain again, when BDs are born, their base colour are not Black, they have a lighter base, this is the time(light base) where their spots will grow with its disc size. if you turn lights on, rays turn black much quicker than those without lights on, that is why I said to keep lights off until the ray turns dark without the help of light(around the size of 8-9"),its hard to explain here, below is a quote from a chinese expert, hope that helps
