anyone have information on "apple ray"

the shape of the ray resembles an apple... sorry i do not know the scientific name

its a member of the small eye ray specie, Paratrygon Aiereba, rated 5 in terms of difficulty level. There are 2 sub-species, Ceja ray and Manzana ray.

NKS used to have them.

Apple rays belong to the 'small-eyed' ray group and they tend to grow to quite large sizes.

I personally own a ceja ray (sometimes called 'eye-brow' rays) that is easily about 22 inches in diameter. You can see it in my gallery.

Perhaps what they mean by 'difficult' to keep is that they do not actively hunt for food like PDRs and motoros but they 'camp' at one spot and suddenly pounce on fish or prey that unknowingly stray pass their mouths.

So far I've had not had much difficulty in keeping it besides the occassional loss of some of the other fishes kept with it. To me, they are relatively easy to keep but may be quite boring to look at as they lay still most of the time.

The most exciting part is when you put food in front of it and watch it pounce on the food.

hi, the ray identification like not complete, dun have sakura ray, marble motoro, sp ray, etc. got any more website to introduce ?
