It did not jump out. It was lying motionless on its back in a well covered tank when I saw it.

Based on my discussion with Elindra, we suspect it could be due to stress. It was only ~1.5 hours between the time I saw it alive in there and found it dead.

Got a nice little newsletter for all you Kamihata PBB owners out there...

Check out the ORIGINAL breeding pair. Look at the head shape, all the Kamihata PBB carry this same shape!
Parents were 70+cm and hand picked from Lake Chad. They were among a few with a slightly "abnormal" head shape...

You released it into your main tank immediately after the photoshoot?

Teugelsi by nature isnt a shy type of bichir like mokes or buttikoferi whose hiding most of the time from what I observed. They are more like senegals and pollis thats actively swimming around the tank.

The 3 of them were in a pail of new water before I release them in there. What I noticed for that piece was it was not active in the photography tank.

Anyway, there is good news as Angus can declare this as DOA as it's within 24 hours from arrival. I didn't know about it till I asked him if he wanted the body for specimen.

If this is the case then the fish must be already not in good condition during the long transit to Singapore.

Glad to know this bro. So next time I go Stones will see another specimen of teugelsi from Angus then.
