I intentionally designed my new tank with a 3" high underflow, just so that I could try something like this. Ended up not using plants inside, lol. But seriously, this setup looks fantastic, what with the nice carpet of HG and solid growth on the stem plants. With the height, you could have added in some tiger lotus. Favourite plant for big setups. All in all, a very nice tank, although I don't quite fancy the myriad colours of discus livestock used.

do you have discus getting lost in the stem plants?
like the open space concept on the front. considering if keeping tall fishes like discuss or angels, having a "cliff" concept will be good as it provides alot of swimming space for the fishes. i see that your initial setup, you have a "pathway" of mid growing plants. they died off i guess? try do a heavy trimming on the stem plants. |
