Default Red cap goldfish

Any idea why my red cap goldfish's white color part turned yellowish after sometime? How to maintain it pure white?

If the yellow patches are all over the body, just watch out not to feed food that are too rich in colour enhancer. If the yellow is at the belly, too bad, the bloodline of Redcap that you bought is just not stable. Another symptom of unstable Redcap bloodline is the cap slowly turning white.

The red part on the head is still ok.
Ya right I do feed it with color enhancer and its the white part on the head thats turning yellowish.

If I cant feed it with color enhancer food, that means I am left with only bloodworm right? Cos most of the pellets are all color enhancer right?

Yellowish of the head is quite normal for goldfish and do not be confused with koi. For koi, all white parts from the head to the tail should be snow white. Though most of the pallet food contain colour enhancer but not all are that strong as to cause a yellowish stain on the white. Of course water condition is also important. When water quality is in tip top condition, red/white goldfish on a diet of colour enhancer will develop the desired clear red and white colour.

Yah, I was told the Redcap Oranda is the most popular in northern China due to this reason.
