I agreed with itchy. If you have not idea of the lineage of the parents, what you have now could be from very different fish. The answer is to try out. The blue fish and red fish of current generation compare with 5 years ago, could be very different as they have been improved.

I think blue and red will give you brown fish.

Usually conditioning the breeding brooders with enriched food. I usually add multivitamins and antioxidant during my heart meals preparation. Deworming in done. Spaced out intervally for breeding. Not too close else the qty and quanty of the eggs or fries are lower and lesser successful especially the hatch rates.

Breeding tank setup with similar water parameters. Intro the pair in with the breeding slat. Bare tank with sponge filter only. My tanks are all oyama white all round except front.

No heart meals anymore as it's May foul the water fast.

Then wait for the dance and courtship especially if shaking in the com. Tank.

Soften the water and wait

Yes...since raise the fries to adult hood...I don't detox.

But sometimes if get very colorfull adult for cross breeding, I will detox first and condition.

sometimes the fertile rate is very low. Even After breeding the adult may die, darken and loss color....may get only a few fries having paid high price for the breeder brooders

You may want to consider adding Dennerle S7.
