Got an Arowana XB
-18" and Have tank mates of 3 PB and 1 endi I usually feed it 4 bull frog size an inch and a half every other day. It usually eats really fast and will finish all 4. Been feeding it BF for about 2 years now. It was different yesterday, i threw the first one in he wack and eat. The second one he wack and hold in its mouth for quite a while and then spit it out. So i threw in the 3rd one and wack and kill it and then spit it out. and the 4th one lived to see another day. Its just different the feel i have and all that. Its favour food is BF always waiting on the top doesnt give it a change to swim it wack already. Is my encounter normal that it suddenly have no appetite after 2 years? |

Aro lost it appetite normally due to water parameters changed which not suit them at the moment. You may change the PH first, if lower than 6 means it is time to do WC.
other factors may includes chanfe of temperature or tank mate, some time even sick of the single kind of food. May stop one meal and do wc change to stimulate it appetite again. Hope ur will get back to normal appetite soon. |

anyways, would advise to do wc and monitor... not unusual for aros to be a little picky on food... especially lone aros... maybe the bf tasted funny so it spit out... a one off no appettite day is nothing to be alarmed abt... fish keeping is abt patience... dont do anything drastic... |

IMO, 4BF at one go will make the fish very full. Even feeding at alt day.
My XB is about 16", been with me around 1 and half year. Learn thru experience and advice from people, dun feed the Aro full. Feed it 60-70% of the max food it can take and can feed it daily. Result, fish is always active and 'dancing' whenever walk near the tank. WC regime 50% weekly with no CC. I'm keeping only Single Aro with 2 TFB in a 4.5x2.5x2 IOUS. |

Aldult aro can feed them on alternate days and when they refuse food it is a sign that they will fast for a period or your tank water condition is having problem. Check your water parameters and do regular 20%-30% water change weekly.
