Default DIY CO2 injection for planted tank with sump tank setup.

Hi guys,

I just DIY-ed a CO2 injection for my new 4X1.5X2 planted tank with sump tank. Basically, I use heat to soften the acrylic pipes so that I can force fit the ceramic atomiser into one end and the other end into the gray pipe, but I also used silicon to glue them together for safety.

Comments are welcome, I haven't use it though as I am too busy with work to setup my tank!

Default Actual photo of setup

Hi guys,

Attached are the actual photo of my setup. The first ball valve is for adjusting the flow rate, open valve to reduce flow rate, will be connecting a flexible hose to prevent splashing. For the DIY CO2 injection, I used a longer acrylic tube to see the bubbles more easily so as to help me set the valve of my CO2 cylinder. Also applied generous layer of silicon to the pipe as well as the glass at the bottom. For the last two ball valve, one of them is use to adjust the height of the water in the overflow compartment and the other one was redundant (the installer misunderstood my instruction).

Yeap, quite a few have commented that it looks dangerous. But I have since heated the pipe again to narow down the opening at the bottom and applied a thick layer of silicon around it, there is no chance of the glass slipping out at all, unless it breaks. Been running it for about a week, so far so good. Will post picture soon.
