I try to pick up the roots every day if i happen to see one floating in the water But the shrimps love it. They will cling onto the roots. THose are not duckweeds by the way.

You should have spread the HG wider in single stalk. Will grow up more nicely than one whole bundle together.

Just curious, did you add those plants and woods straight in after purchase, or have you quarantined them to look out for potential pests? I suppose soil as well as fiter medias are all new? Did you test the water parameters before adding the shrimps in? One week cycling may not be long enough. |
