How to make AF an active forum again ?

All active members have aged, gone senile can't remember password to come in again?

Wonder if referring to fish forum or chit chat forum?

If you guys frequent Hardwarezone EDMW, there is currently a thread about fish keeping.

Some former members of AF posted some opinions and feedback about AF.

Some of these points are very relevant and worth a thought.

It is very sad to see that AF forum has since died down years back.

We need a leader to MAKE AF GREAT AGAIN ..... Donald Trump is coming in Jun.

Yeah I also read the thread. Seems like there are a lot of “colourful events” that happened in the past. But I don’t think these are the reasons for th decline in forum activities. I believed the start of the decline was the restriction of buy/sell privilege. There after many things followed, like the emergence of Facebook groups and decline in fish keeping interest, etc.

I really doubt we can make the forum like it used to be.

Nowadays there are many facebook groups, mainly for sale of fishes,

I have joined arowana, betta, general aquatic groups in facebook but mainly to see the fishes for sale. It is tough to discuss or seek advice like a proper forum.

To improve AF, it will be tough, very tough given that new fish keepers would have the tendency to join facebook groups easily. The owners and moderators must be determined to make AF prosper again. Yes I used the word prosper as there were times when we had a few hundred or thousands of members/guests online at once. Now I barely see a few.

There needs to be a revamp. As for the details, I cannot offer much ideas. Even with opening free to post sale items may not be enough as there are already so many possible avenues to sell fishes and items.

This forum needs to be unique, in a way my take would be to share knowledge and give advice. More of the serious stuff.

If I were to be interested in talking c*ck and sing song, plus gossiping, EDMW would be my site to be at.

I am thinking if having a AF facebook group would be a good start?

If fish keeping is in decline, are we trying to catch more of the remaining pie?

AF is funded mostly by Barney and other Bosses. Their effort and love of the hobby. It will be good to know their comments.
