Yes, these are all cherry shrimps. There are flowery strips on the bodies of all these shrimps.

No. Cherry does not really require chiller. They are able to tolerate higher temperature of up to 29-30 Deg C. But it is still recommended to keep them in cooler water of around 26-27 Deg C. Their colouration tends to look better.

alright..
thanks for the advice..
another thing I am not too sure is that i know that inverterbrates are generally sensitive to copper in the water...
but how do i ensure that there is no copper in the water, especially when certain plant ferts dosed in the tank, do contain copper in the formulation?

yes they're are sensitive to copper, but it depends on the amount of copper.
There are many arguments as to whether copper from fertilizers affect shrimps, people have use seachem flourish with no issues, while some have observed that their shrimps are more active when there are no ferts added to the tank. So just to be safe, why not just avoid adding ferts altogether. Use plants with low demands such as moss and java fern or even fissidens.

depends on what your tank temp is..

shrimps are very sensitive to copper and any sudden changes to water parameters.. IMHO, if you have a tank that is high tech, would be tough to keep shrimps as it would be difficult to maintain a balance between them and plants that require injection of ferts and co2.
