From my experience, no problems. However, feeding on pellets somewhat compromises growth. It would not have the mass of those fed with MP.

All along I thought senegals max size around 12" or so but when I did a search in the web, this is the statistics:

Listed tank sizes are the minimum

Size: Up to 20 inches (50.5 cm)
Tank: 48 inches
Strata: Bottom
PH: 6 to 7.5
Hardness: Soft to hard
Ttemperature: 77°F to 89°F (25 to 28°C)

I tried with normal plecos and usually it fails as once the pleco tried sucking on the slimes of the bichirs, they will love to do it again.
I was advised by others to try on bristlenose as they clears up the tank algaes and dont suck on the bichirs. So far so good for me after trying out.

Ya for sure if only pellets size will be compromise, cos I can only feed pellets, so sad

Haha bro.. no worries if you wanna comm with pseudas.. all the spikes will deter a big bichir from taking a bite at it.

Btw, I believe captive senegals around 12" to 13" max size.
