Exclamation Water Cooling System?

Hi all,

Just wondering if there're any water cooling systems or gadgets (Cheap ones most desirable. ) which enables cooling of the aquarium water? If so, where can I purchase them???

Cos all I see in LFS are water heaters and no coolers. Singapore is already so hot, we still need heaters?

Thanks all in advance.

Well, for starters you can get a fan (cheap) or a chiller (expensive). There is another device that is like a joystick or something that sticks into the water to cool it, but I just can't recall the name now (I'm probably really sleepy). Anyone remember?

Fans and chillers are the only way to go for cooling of water in your aquarium.

There is always consistancy using chillers but the downside is the costs involved.

Depending on what type of plants and fish you are keeping, both will work well.

If budget is a contrain then you can do 2 things. 1, get a fan, it is the cheapest option out there. 2, change the location of the tank. Where you place the tank is actually very important as well.

if u wan neat wiring ... just get a fan from LFS. should be ranging from 15 to 20

if u wan cheaper...DIY... go to simlim , get a $2 80mm fan at B1 then get a 12dc power supply. join them up .. u will get a cheap fan.

12vdc power supply can be free if u have spoil modem, wireless phone ,torchlight charger ... those adapter are mostly 12vdc.

My tank is around 14.5 x 24 x 17.5 inches (B x L x H). A relatively small one.

Wow $80?! I'm actually looking for a slim and cheap alternative to cool my tank and not come up with too much of 'artificial' wiring within the tank itself. I prefer a neat and tidy setup. Tried using ice cubes but it didn't do much to lower the general temperature of the water. Probably because my tank is placed at the balcony and sunlight=high temperature??
