try adding a cushion inbetween pump and base plate? if you add weight or pressure on the pump does the sound stop?

I have bad experience with Ehiem too... After replacing 2 times (one to one exchange New set), I give it up as the low humming sound still there. I am not sure if it is just that particular model. In the end I bought another brand that the lfs recommended and the humming noise is gone. This is just my Ehiem experience, a bad one...

Use to have a 2260 too. Couldn't stand that humming sound especially at night.
Tried all sought of stuff to eliminate the sick sound but in vain.
Finally, unscrewed the pump from the canister cover and just let it sit on the
cushion without any screws and the sound went down by half.
Almost silent, not sure if you have tried it but worked for me.

Hmm The screws on the plastic cover could be loose. Happened to me last time. Then just need to adjust a bit then it was better.
That being said, I just got used to the sound last time when it was still in my bedroom. Low pitch still ok.

bro, if u have checked that the magnet shaft of the pump is okie,
and all else is a-okie.
u can either cut a small pcs of rubber mat (like those anti-slip type) and put between the 1260 pump and it stand b4 tightening the screw.
to further isolate vibration... place another rubber mat on the floor where the canister sit.
Hope it help.

Yes Edwin, u can separate the 1060/1260 pump from the canister {these pump can ops either dry or wet (caution - u need to follow instruction to prime the pump for dry ops)}, but u must have the necessary hose and joints for the connectivity.

Another work around option is not to use the noisy pump (remove the impeller and unplug the power), get a external pump to do the job.
