How old does a calvus need to grow to be ready for spawning?

Yea, they grow slowly, but mature when they are still small in size.
The alto calvus yellows are wildcaught, got them really big, the male is over 4 inches, the females are 3-3.5 inches already. they dun seem to have grown much since i got them.. haha |

Indeed slow growers....I have about 3 black calvus for over 3 yrs, maybe more and still looked to be almost the same size as when I first got them But good what, you don't run out of tank space so fast

Now, 1.5 yrs later, the smaller one grew & caught up with the bigger fish and both now at 4.5 inches. Both look like males with their seemingly longer pelvic fins. Hoping a acquire a female & maybe spawn them. |
