sump is actually a bigger version of your overhead but it is make like another small tank place beneath your tank. your tank must have a hole drilled n pipe is connected below letting water flow thru the sump which is mostly filtered thru cotten wool, coral sand, biohome etc.then water is pump back by a power head to ur tank again.

usually drilling is done by lfs ,if u want a complete tank with sump. dont try diy urself. mostly u cant get the timing right because water flow rate down is very much faster than pumping it up. if u cant get the timing right u can get your house flooded.but mayb u can try asking some expert on diy stuff or u can visit sgreef for some info on i-box but it is quite ex which i heard.

Yup, if you don't like drilling, either get I~Aqua(I believe their on this forum as well) to do an I~box for you or DIY a hang-on overflow box. I think someone in this forum has done one before.

Its a box that is hang in the tank so water can overflow into it and gets siphon into your sump tank. Good if you dont wanna drill your tank. Cost at least $100+ the last time I checked. For me, I just spend $20 for a drill bit and drilled my tank.
