We rode our luck and wins 3-1. Not a vintage performance, but a win, nevertheless. A massive 3 points

3 points but performance wasn't great. We were playing in 3rd gear until the later part of the second half.

James was the only forward who had energy going forward and defending. Rashford looked at times like he was trying to conserve energy. I didn't realised that Martial was playing in the match, another poor performance.

James is quite good at taking his shots on goal and doesn't rush the shot, e.g. through player's or keeper's legs.

We won, but I dun like our play due to the selection of players.
At home, we were setup to be a counter-attacking team.

Lucky to win, but we will be found out when we play Chelsea or Man City next.

Their goal scorer is the banana skin.
Always played well against us.

James was better than AM.
The former though lost the ball but hardworking enough to chase back the ball and won it back.

It was indeed a pleasant surprise that James played well in the 2nd half and that should boost his confidence. But he still lack the discipline of staying in his position and very often see him running in as if he was the central striker. He vacated his position as a winger on numerous occasions without switching with MR and that should be an area of concern for Ole.
AM unfortunately has lost most of his confidence and to add insult he was sub instead of DJ which I am sure worsen his confidence, but he deserved to be dropped and for the hard work rate DJ was correctly left on the pitch to continue

Against Real Sociedad 2nd leg, there were some points to note.

This time OGS replaced Fred who picked up a yellow card in the 1st half with Tuanzebe at half time. No more making the same mistake twice with the possibility of Fred getting sent off in the second half.

Williams was too eager to prove himself after coming on in the 2nd half and got a yellow soon after. He could have been sent off later after committing another foul later. He has to learn how to play smart.

James got conned into giving away a penalty by the smart play by the Sociedad player. Don't just dive in.

Honestly still cannot understand Ole's logic in continuing to play the partnership of HM and VL in central defence when EB was the outstanding player.
What can EB really do to convince Ole that this mindset needs to be changed.
Giroud is surely going to bully VL through and through.

I really believe that we were cheated off a penalty by the ref even tho he went over to the monitor to view
