The water should take a day or 2 to clear up, shouldn't take too long.

The seio620 should help keep the LR surface relatively debris free but there will be bound to be dead corners where debris can accumulate. As for the sandbed, it shouldn't help much.

Do exercise caution and monitor the sandbed after switching on the wavemaker, it could end up being too powerful and churn up the sand. This could lead to an avalanche of LR. This problem can be solved by add a layer of coarse sand on top of the finer sand.

some of u were also from planted...familiar face(nicks) around in here~

ok...cut long story short.. im going for a simple fowlr setup.

i have got:
tank 2 X 1 X 1.5ft (check)
weipro 2011 skimmer (check)
2ft PL 55W b/w light set (check)
10kg top layer sand C3 (check)
10kg bottom layer sand C0
2000l/hr pump
liverocks
livestock
sea salt

1) need advise on which brand of pump is suitable for the weipro 2011.

2) does weipro 2011 need 2000l/hr for it to achieve efficiency?

3) i bought the hose to connect the skimmer to the pump. will the size of hose suits the pump as well? (quite a silly question, but this is one of the more headache one for me)

4) how many kg of rocks should i buy

5) does the brand of the salt makes a difference?

6) can i try coral with 2ft 55W PL b/w light?

7) how long do i need to cycle the tank(with the skimmer) ?
Ans: ok,i just read this from another thread..at least 1 mth

currently only can tink of these few questions...hope to get replies soon

thanks!!!!~

Just a tip, avoid getting boulder shaped LRs as these don't stack well.
