Default Do your gar eat alot?

Hi guys just want to check with all the gar owners here. 2 months ago, I got myself an alligator gar from Y618. When I bought it, it was around 6 inches. Now it is about 8-9 inches. Super big eater. Can finish 20 feeders(each abt 1.5inches in size) within an hr. Everyday I just throw in 20 feeders from my feeders tank and I will see it chasing after them. Currently inside my spare 4ft tank alone. After finishing the 20 feeders, its stomach is just abit rounder, thats all. Do your gars also eat alot? I am afraid of overfeeding it.

My short bodied aligator gar eats alot too, I but him at 4 inchs long, within 2.5 months time, It out grew my arowanas to a length of 1.3' ! one unfortunate morning, I caught him trying to eat my super high backs ! Luckily they escaped his jaws.... He is now in a separated tank living alone. Wait for the rest to grow up first. Heh heh heh

Careful. Used to keep one alligator gar. Voracious and vicious. Even if they are the same size also they will try to attack.

My 23' Florida gar eats like no tml. Everytime after every meals he looks like a Dolphin to me. And a little clumsy

No worries bro. They know when to stop when they are full. Pump more and u get mass body gar.
