this is a risk for sensitive fish like altums

when u mix altums with new fish or vice versa
u risk them getting sick from commensal bacteria from the existing or new fish

in my time keeping altums, even the hardiest altums can get sick when u mix them with new fish (healthy or not)

The cloudy eyes may due the use of the net. Can monitor for a while.

Hope for the best that it will recover. Next time get new fishes you would really need to quarantine them. Otherwise the current sticks might be affected too if there's anything wrong.

Should just treat whole tank, increase temp and increase water change frequency. Less percentage but more frequent. Less feedings and increase aeration too.
Altum already sick, transfer in and out, medicate... More stress.

Sorry to hear that. Treat it as a lesson learned and move on.

Yup. I had learnt my lesson to choose the fish instead of the seller choose for me.

Sorry your for loss! I think it is unfair to blame the seller though - anyone who keep altums will know that things can go wrong in a short period of time - and you mentioned the AAs has been with you a few days already before it developed cloudy eyes and swollen mouth. There can be many causes including banging into tank walls and objects in your tank due to the new environment.

I feel that on top of ensuring you choose the right seller, you also need to learn how to acclimatize the fish in your tank - not just from a water management point of view but some fishes like discus and angels can be very shy and jittery when in a new environment. Things like dimmer lights initially could help them get used to the new environment faster.

winner.

I ask if you want view, u say view first, so ok.
I ask if you want choose, u say no need, ok so i randomly choose.
When I was randomly choosing those smaller in size
as I only keeping the bigger ones except that one pcs that is one eye jack,
u are standing there to see.

I believe all my altums are active, health wise i would not say tip top cos I also mention to you they are slightly thin (but not as if they are very very skinny).

Just a week before you, I also sold 5pcs of smaller than urs
obviously i use a NET to catch the fish as well
(you wont be expecting me to catch with my HANDS from a 5x2.5x2.5 tank)
and the 5pcs are surving well in the other guy's tank.
My remaining altums are also still active and well.

During these days, you msg me and i still try my best to advice.
Although fish I have sold to you but i would want them to die as I rear from small till that size.

Anyway, please take care of the remaining ones.
