One reason Russia is doing well is becos of home ground support. Reminds me of the 2002 World Cup many yrs ago held at South Korea & Japan. That World Cup south korea team did well.

That he was kept throughout the entire duration of the game means he ought to be match fit but in the first half he had probably the least touches of the ball than any of his team mates (19 touches). Too much hope rested on his shoulder (no puns intended) but he just does not have the support of his mates unlike when he was in Liverpool.
Russia may not have superstars but the home support really rallied them and they played like a team which football is all about...team sport

South Korea didn't do well ....... they should be ashamed of what happened

Dun even want to talk abt the group stage.

In the knockout rounds ......
First, it was italy, then Spain

They freaking rugby, whacked, elbowed, kicked the Italians out of the game with no fouls.
When Totti was fouled, he was sent off for diving. WTF.
Then the Italians had a good goal wrongly disallowed for offside.
The Koreans star player was Ahn Jung Hwan. And he scored the goal in extra time that send the Koreans through.
He was playing for an Italian club at that time.
After the World Cup, he was sacked.
That was how incensed the Italians were over this WC controversy
google Byron Moreno (the referee)

Same thing happened in the next round.
This time it was Spain.
But this time, it is not one goal disallowed.
It is TWO perfectly good goals disallowed.
And then the Koreans win on penalties.

I root for Asians to do well but to " do well " in this manner ....
that's cheating, corruption .....

2002 worst world cup ever
