Arowana Crossback become Highback?
Hi Sifu's.
Need some advise. 5 months ago, I bought Aro around 6" length and I was informed it belong to xBack species. Today is 5 months later, my Aro is 12" length and the gold just reach on 4 scales (1 scales up from middle scale line). Yesterday, I was in the shop and asking the seller why my Aro gold cant go up like normal xBack. He said if my tank is not full white then xBack could become highback. Obviously background of my tank is stones photo (kind dark grey). Does what he said is true that xback can become highback due to tank environment Here is my aro which taken last Aug/Sep with white light. |

Bro, the aro in question looks more like a rtg.
But what does its certificate stipulate? Last edited by streetsmart73; 19-10-2016 at 09:49 AM. |

Did the shop owner scan the chip on the aro to shows you the chip number matches the number printed on cert?

no such thing as non white tank, XB become RTG.
if the fish is chipped with certificate provided, u can contact the farm for help. If not chipped, nothing much you can do but learn an expensive lesson. Do share the shop details.

How do we identity RTG compare to Highback/Xback? If my aro is RTG that means the golden scales can reached up to 4 level n max 5 level BTW, I don't have certificate when I bought it. |

Bro, do you have the photo of this aro when you just bought?
Last time if kena this type of case, the farm will offer 1 to 1 exchange if the fish don't turn out to be what it should be. |

Sounds like it's a long kang leng.
Asian aro are protected under CITES. In Singapore, the aro must be chipped and sold with cert. If the aro doesn't come with cert, it probably wasn't chipped. |
