hi there 1. bro, since you are new to aros. 2. it is advisable to start it off with a greenie. 3. it is of course less expensive than the rtg. 4. once you get the hang of it and experience, you can then go for something else. 5. this forum has all it takes to start aroing. 6. good luck. |

Keep reading and learn more about arowana. Water parameters and treatment are the most essential . After which comes to grooming and feeding. I suggest u go for rtg first if u are willing to spend that 300 plus more. Depending if you like a gold or green adult arowana. You don't want to raise an arowana for a few year then regret ur decision. Read and learn first will save you lots of money in the long run. Happy aro-ing! Cheers!

imho, you may want to look at some of the pictures of adult arowana on how the baby aros look like when they are older.
Some green adult have green purplish hue v nice. if price is a concern, green, red2, RTG are possible choices. |

if you can afford to buy medias and tankmates, i believe you can save a little more to get a RTG. Another 1 or 2 month duration, u can treat it as "cycling" tank before introducing your arowana into the tank....

now for the price of 300 plus u can get really good quality aros already. So help yourself and dun rush this process. Read as much as possible as you can here. I did and learnt quite alot since early 2000.
Now for the price of 300 plus.. u can even be lucky to find a 5th level complete RTG also at 6". Look out for the features like spoonhead-ness, wide tail, confident swimming posture, bright eyes.. healthy look, alot of factors to look out for. Spend your time going to diff aro shops to look and observe. See which aro speaks out to you within your price budget. Good luck! |
