Have a friend who used to keep them.. Died very quickly
Heard from him that they are very ficky and require very special food aka the copepods. Some would refuse to take frozen food... Would have a higher chance of surviving in a matured and big tank (:

You are definitely corrrect.
They feed on pods and only mature and large tank have enough for them.
Difficult to train to feed on prepared food but some reefers did have success.
Spotted mandarin is slightly easier than green mandarin to wean to prepared food.
Note I quote "slightly"..

Some other goby does stay at bottom more.
eg. pink spotted goby
Fire or purple goby will swim mostly at mid to low level too, although once a while will swim higher.
These gobies are easy to keep..
Cheers.

Scarlet skunk shrimp will be a good choice. They can smell the pellet from far away. just make sure you nitrate and ammonia levels are low before introducing them. If your clown fish is large sized, I will recommended to get at least a medium sized shrimp so that it can fend for itself in the aquarium.

The scarlet skunk shrimp is also fun to watch as it attempts to pick off parasite from other fish like marine discus.
