My plan now it is to connect the outlet of the 2260 to my ohf.
Why this set up? Because as water enter in the 2260 will have all the waste, which the bacteria feeds on but of coz before the waste goes into the 2260 its filtered by the black sponge then medias and black sponge agin then to the ohf with only white wool. I suppose all of us experience then mock or waste in the sump tank right? Heres where the white wool comes in place. It will filter out all the mock and waste that the bacteria produce which in turn clear clean water returns into the main tank. |

Wic one is good? Wool first or wool at the end?
In 2260 wool on top before pump inlet, I encountered lots of sludge n slime at the bottom n on the media. In sump wool first, easy maintenence, no need to rinse the media to clean up. |

I mean is that u put the wool at the top before u cover up.
Or ur pump outlet to a wool than water down to the tank. |

2260 inlet to black sponge - media - black sponge - ohf (white wool) - back into main tank.

The main/primary purpose of having wool is to prevent all the smudge/dirt/etc to get into the medias so that it will NOT clogged up the micro holes of the media for bacteria to thrive inside. Depending on what canisters/outlets u are using, the water must reached the wool first before reaching your media.

I am using black sponge at the base of the 2260 followed by CR + Biohome.
The 2260 acts mainly as a bio filter. If white wool is added, need to open up the canistor quite frequently to change the wool as it is easily choked up. |

Actually the ideal way of using 2260 to a OHF is to use an iOS tank and place the 2260 suction pipe there. The disposable wool would clear the dirt prior to going into the canister.
